Privacy policy

This policy describes how Miso Place at miso.place handles information when you use the focus room or create an optional account. Contact the site operator at [email protected] with privacy questions or requests.

Accounts and Google sign-in

Clerk provides our account and authentication service. When you create an account, Clerk processes your email address, any profile details you provide, authentication information, and session information to sign you in and manage your account.

If you choose Google sign-in, Google shares your account identifier, email address, and basic profile information, such as your name and profile picture, with Clerk for Miso Place. We use this information to identify your account, sign you in, and display and manage your profile. We request only OpenID, email, and basic profile permissions. We do not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files, or calendar. Your Google password is not shared with Miso Place.

Google account information is stored in Clerk's account system and is available to the site operator for account administration and support. We do not sell Google account information or use it for advertising.

Cookies and preferences

Clerk uses cookies and related browser storage to maintain your sign-in session and support authentication security. The music administration area also uses a session cookie for its separate administrator login.

Your selected room, pet, accessory, pet name, volume, mute setting, track, and loop setting are saved in your browser's local storage. These preferences are currently local to your browser and are not synced to your account. Signing out does not clear them. You can remove them by clearing site data in your browser settings.

Service providers and technical information

Vercel hosts the site and audio files, Clerk provides authentication, and Google processes Google sign-in when you select it. Hosting and authentication services process technical request information, such as IP addresses, browser information, and request or authentication logs, to deliver the service, troubleshoot errors, and protect against abuse.

Your choices and deletion requests

You can use the focus room without an account. Account controls let you manage your profile and sign out. To request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information, contact [email protected]. Account information remains in Clerk until the account is deleted; provider logs and backups are subject to the provider's retention practices. Clearing browser data does not delete your account.

You can also remove Miso Place's Google connection through your Google Account's third-party connections settings. Removing that connection does not itself delete your Miso Place account.

Changes to this policy

Updates will appear on this page with a revised date. If we change the purposes or permissions for Google account data, we will explain those changes and request any required consent before using that data in the new way.
